Tarlac Medical Center
Interior Design | Tarlac City, Tarlac
Sunny begins its healthcare project through the dialysis center of Tarlac Medical Center. The goal was to focus on uplifting the well-being of patients, their companions, and staff. The design concept is inspired by the Rice Paddies that line the roads & towns of Tarlac making up a major percentage of its landscape & earning its place among the biggest producers of rice in the country. The combination of organic shapes, linear patterns, & earth tones evident in rice paddies inspired the design of Tarlac Medical Center. Much like rice, a symbol of nourishment, health, & life, the interiors of the hospital aim to provide patients, staff, & visitors alike a holistic experience that will promote healing and wellness.
Its major design key features are the curved accent wall features and art mimicking the rice paddy forms, giving softness to the interiors & making the room look less formal and serious. The color choices provide hints of green hues through the application of paint and plantscaping for a calming yet rejuvenating ambiance. The materials used are wood finishes on furniture, walls, & ceilings that add warmth and character. The presence of wood & other natural elements in interiors is known to bring positive physiological effects. Vinyl flooring was applied for ease of maintenance and to prevent slippage during operations. Furniture choices include fully upholstered modular seating pieces in waiting areas for flexibility & comfort.
Much like rice, a symbol of nourishment, health, & life, the interiors of the hospital aim to provide patients, staff, & visitors alike a holistic experience that will promote healing and wellness.
